KNOW YOUR MEDICINE|How does Body handle Medicine?|Metabolism of Medicine

Though medicines are administered into our body by many ways like tablets, syrup, capsules, injections, etc., they need to enter the blood stream so that they can be carried into the place of action. Once they enter into blood, along with the blood they get distributed into other organs and tissues including fluids. Different medicines depending on their properties get access to different places in the body to different extent. Thus, all organs and tissues are exposed to the beneficial and ill effects of medicines. While ideally, it is necessary that the medicines should reach the site of action inadequate quantity, exposure to other places in the body should be avoided.
